PUSSIES

(Now that should increase the ol' blog view total...)

Though I'm still not back in the mood to type walls of text that (as the previous parenthetical quip suggests) I doubt more than one or two people will be interested enough in to actually read, I am proud enough of this weekend's Oblivion modding results that I thought I'd break my silence long enough to share a few quick screenshots:
These are all Nonyxia and half-Nonyxia (the latter of which I created myself) using the two original body textures as well as two texture sets which I modified myself.
The armor they're wearing in these screenshots is all from the Full Metal Bikini series by Cenobite (if you like these, he also did some cool stuff for Morrowind).

  1. Oh,hey! I can post here again! XD

That said, this is an interesting collection of killer felines you have here. I would think you put a fair bit of time and effort into them all. Then again, you tend to work with larger groups of NPCs than not. Oddly enough though, I am not really liking the armours you used for them. I never thought I'd be complaining about how "sexy outfits" look o.O

  2. Okay, I'm impressed. How did you get the old, archaic comment box back? Usually Google upgrades are a one way street... well, maybe more of a sky-dive in my experience; but definitely one way.

To be topical: I had a joke about your naming convention... what was it? Damned sieve of a mind...

    Oh, right! I remember now.

You have Phoebe and Hebe; but you seem to have forgotten Jeebie. Heebie-Jeebies, get it? (/rimshot) Okay, it sounded better in my head a week ago.

Companions themselves look good. I like that you color-coordinated the hair and fur -- I've had the sneaking suspicion for a while now that not doing that is one of the main reasons my Khajiit always come out looking like, as Maeva would say: "Wal-Mart patron ass".

Sadly, I have to agree with Druuler on the armor. Being a nominally straight male I realize I shouldn't complain about skin showing; but I've never been much of a fan of that armor. Maybe it's because the "bottom" appears to consist only of a metal band-aid on the one; and a chrome thong on the other. I realize Nonyxia probably like bellyrubz as much as any other catgirl... but that still doesn't seem prudent.

Out of curiosity: do you actually play with all these companions you've made over the years? I ask only because I don't remember Oblivion/CM handling groups of more than four to five real well, and was wondering if you had some trick mod hidden in your archive that made it work better with large groups.

  3. Well, my idea with the armor was that being furry beast-type creatures the Nonyxia might not possess the same modesty (or full-blown aversion to nudity) that less hairy races possess. I know in reality the lack of coverage and protection is not at all practical, but I figured what the hell.

Have I played with all the characters I've created? A better question might be: have I ever actually just played these games? I seem to have more fun just tinkering, but I am trying to get my current Oblivion install to a long-term playable state. Most of my previous companion packages have been designed to be acceptable to the public masses; now I'm going in a different direction and trying to create some companions I'll actually play with. I might share more about that in a forthcoming blog post.

I'm not casting stones on the aesthetics bit -- Gods know I've dolled up companions in slinky dresses from Apachii's tons of times over the years... it's just that metal band-aid/chrome thong... I have to believe that would chafe. I get a rash some days just from the holster rubbing on the outside of my thigh; I can barely imagine how unpleasant 420C Stainless underwear would be...

Yeah, I can understand that. Other than for testing purposes, I never did really play with any of the publicly-available RRs along.

Most recently I'm kind of annoyed with myself -- I've gotten several new features up and running; but none actually finished because every time I get a working framework in place, I almost immediately get bored and go work on the next idea, rather than fleshing out and finishing what I was working on.

    2. Unfinished works in progress; now there's something I can definitely relate to.
